WHICH AUDIO QUALITY IS RIGHT FOR ME?

At the end of the day, it’s all down to your playback system. If you own an expensive pre-amp system and expensive speakers then you will most likely appreciate uncompressed quality music. (.Wav/Lossless) However, if you play your audio on a portable device like an iPod, iPhone then you would only experience Lossless quality anyway. If you aren’t bothered about quality and would rather worry about download time then we would advise you to download an MP3 version.

ARE YOU CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR NEW ARTIST/BANDS?

Yes! We are always looking for new talent to fill the ranks at Hurt Records. As you may have realised, we don’t limit our artist roster to a single genre of theme, instead we are looking to sign a diverse range of musical styles. If you are currently signed to a label then do not despair, we have staff trained in the art of dissolving your current contracts and we would be able to migrate your back-catalogue from your old label too! There are however, certain criteria that we are looking for before we sign you up. You need to have an established act with a stable band member roster. We will also only sign bands who have demo’s or albums at the ready. If you are interested then please send any EPK’s to the address below;

I AM AN ARTIST WHO WOULD LIKE TO BE SIGNED BY HURT RECORDS, WHAT DO I DO?

The process is fairly simple however, we need to understand your act and your sound and that is only possible with a demo CD or album. If you are serious about your band/act then you should already have an EPK (Electronic Press Kit) that should contain a biography, band photos, reviews, social links and of course, the music. If you have a demo or an EPK then please do not hesitate to send it to us at;

Hurt Records,
132 High Street,
Esher,
Surrey,

United Kingdom

DO WE HAVE TO SEND YOU A PHYSICAL DEMO? CAN WE NOT JUST LINK YOU THE SONGS?

Technically you could just link us your demo songs but the point is this, 'if you can’t be bothered to send us a physical copy of your work then should we really be bothered to listen to a linked demo?' Be assured that in this industry 10 times out of 10 a linked demo will never be listened to. Put some effort in and it might just reward you. If you would like to know where to send your demo to then please open the F.A.Q above titled; "I am an artist who would like to be signed by Hurt Records, what do I do?”

I WANT TO POST HURT RECORDS MUSIC ON A SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLET LIKE YOUTUBE, VIMEO. AM I ALLOWED?

At this time; ‘No’. We are currently putting together our content ID system with Google which will allow us to strike any and all videos that are uploaded without Hurt Records' written consent. If you are a content creator on any video platform then we would ask you to unlist your video and send it to us so that we can pass judgement on it before you upload it. At the moment, we are not accepting any YouTube submissions.

I HAVE ALREADY UPLOADED CONTENT OWNED BY HURT RECORDS, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

We would ask you to delete the videos from your channel as we do not allow any content licensed or owned by Hurt Records to be uploaded to YouTube. If the content is not removed it will receive a strike, without warning. You will receive one strike per video that contains our intellectual property.

I HAVE RECEIVED A STRIKE FROM HURT RECORDS/INWAVES, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Very rarely do we accept a counter-copyright claim however, if you feel as though the content was incorrectly flagged or striked the please let us know. Please be aware that if you did not receive permission to upload from Hurt Records then the counter-copyright claim will not remove the strike.

CAN I SEND FAN-ART/FAN-MAIL TO HURT RECORDS? WILL IT REACH THE DESIRED ARTISTS?
